The Dhaka-Chittagong Expressway is a new 225 km long, 6-lane highway in Bangladesh that will replace the existing 4-lane Dhaka to Chittagong National Highway. The new expressway will have 7 interchanges, 44 vehicle underpasses, 64 underpasses, and 3 rest areas. The project will be implemented through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) on build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis. The cost of the project is estimated at $8.6 billion if made totally elevated, but it will drop to $3.4 billion if made at-grade elevated. The construction works of the expressway are planned to start from January 2018.
