Gazhouba will construct a 16-km BRT lane, 32-km footpath and a separate lane for slow-moving vehicles for the 20.50-km project at a cost of Tk 855.37 crore. The construction work will end within the next 30 months. On June 26, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the construction work of the BRT route. The BRT Route-3 will be extended upto Keraniganj. For this purpose, the World Bank (WB) has offered $250 million loan to Bangladesh for the construction of Airport-Mohakhali phase of BRT-3 on 4 December 2016. The feasibility study and the detailed design for the 'Phase 1' Airport-Mohakhali of BRT Line 3 has been completed by the WB. The WB will let its loan disbursement scheme for the BRT Line 3 Phase 1 by January 2017 next. Related News: *************** The BRT Line-1 is from Kuril Flyover to Sayedabad, crossing Bishwaroad. Government is thinking to extend line-1 upto Purbachal City. The BRT Line-2 is from Gabtoli to Azimpur. The government is hopeful to start construction of this line within 2017.
